Joe Pyfer delivered a stunning upset against former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya at UFC Fight Night held on March 28, 2026, in Seattle, Washington. Pyfer stopped Adesanya at 4:18 of the second round, marking a significant moment in the night’s main event at the Climate Pledge Arena. The fight showcased an intense exchange of punches before Pyfer’s decisive takedown led to the technical knockout (TKO). According to Al Jazeera, Pyfer emphasized his aggressive fighting mentality, stating, “I just have this mentality where I don’t care; I’m going to search and destroy.”

Adesanya, who has a professional record of 24-6 MMA, has not secured a victory since he regained the middleweight title in April 2023. Despite this setback, he confirmed he has no intentions of retiring, insisting, “I’m just going to keep going and going and going.”

Additionally, featherweight Lerryan Douglas and middleweight Yousri Belgaroui both secured TKO victories, with Douglas continuing his impressive six-fight win streak. The main card opened dramatically, as lightweight Terrance McKinney defeated Kyle Nelson in just 24 seconds, showcasing the explosive nature of the event.
